After a delicious breakfast, we start our 4-day desert trip from Fes to Marrakech at 8:00 a.m. Firstly, we leave the imperial city of Fes for Midelt through the Mountains and cedar forests of the middle Atlas. We pass by Ifrane City, a charming ski resort, and Azrou, an important handicraft center specializing in the work of cedar wood.
We arrive in Midelt for lunch. After that, we will drive to one of the largest oases, Ziz Valley, for a wonderful panoramic view of the oasis. Dinner and breakfast will be in a hotel at the foothills of the Moroccan desert of Erg Chebbi Sahara dunes.
After a delicious breakfast and a hot shower, our 4 day tour from Fes to Marrakech continues to Gnaoua village to enjoy live music. We then continue through an off-track road to a Desert landscape of sand dunes and then stop to have tea with a nomad family in a Berber tent to learn more about their lifestyle.
In addition, if you are lucky enough to be on the Market days, we may drive to Errisani to explore its authentic market. Moreover, we returned to Khamlia village to take a break for lunch and enjoy a Berber pizza. Back to the hotel to relax and a glass of tea before starting your experience of camel trekking into the middle of the dunes to see the sunset, then you will arrive at the desert camp and spend the night in a nomadic tent/luxury desert camp.
Wake up early to see the spectacular sunrise, have breakfast, and shower at the camp. Thereafter, ride the camel back to the meeting point. We will continue to Ouarzazate via Rissani and stop in Erfoud, famous for its fossilized marbles. There, you will visit the workshop that produces marble fossils.
Continue to the Todra Gorges, which are ideal for walking and exploring on your own. Have lunch, then drive through the town of Roses, Kelaa M’gouna. We continue through the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing the Skoura palm grove until we arrive at Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” and check into the hotel/riad.
On the last day of our 4 day tour from Fes to Marrakech, we head to the ancient Kasbah ait Benhaddou, a fortified village situated along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. Generally, this site is declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage. The site was the setting for many famous movies, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.
