8 Day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech Itinerary

Day 1Casablanca – Hassan 2 mosque – Meknes – Fes

On the first day of our 8-day tour from Casablanca, we depart toward the city center to visit the Hassan II mosque and have coffee at Rick’s Cafe Fes. The road to Fes takes us along a beautiful stretch of farmlands where olives, grain, vegetables, and grapes are grown. Before arriving in Fes, we may stop at the current capital before heading to Meknes, the Ismaili capital.

Moreover, this town was created by Moulay Ismail, often referred to as the( Ismaili capital) in the 17th century. Bab el-Mansour is the main gateway to Moulay Ismail Royal Palace, the Henries-Souani, the horse stable, and granaries. We arrive in Fes and check into the hotel/riad.

Day 2Cultural tour of Fes- Explore the medina of Fes

After a delicious breakfast, we begin your sightseeing of the ancient city in Morocco with a local expert guide. Then, we will tour the ancient Medina from outside by car, stopping at the gateway of the Royal Palace and the Jewish Quarter. Afterward, we drive to enjoy the Medina from the southern tower and realize how big the old Medina of Fes is. You’ll also visit the Ceramic factory to see traditional artisan workshops.

Afterward, you will cover the most important sites inside the cultural capital of Fes, which are of cultural and historical interest, including the superb architectural masterpiece of Bou Inania Medersa and the tomb of Moulay Idriss.

The Bab Boujloud, the Karaouiyine Mosque, the Big Chouara Tanneries, Medersa Seffarin, where people work on metal and other decorated architecture like Attarin Medersa and the Najarian Fountain. Overnight in a traditional riad in the Medina of Fes.

Day 3Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga

Today is one of the best days of our private8 Day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech. From Casablanca, we will travel through the middle Atlas Mountains. In the same way, we will stop at Ifran, a small, charming, clean town known as Little Moroccan Switzerland.

The next stop will be at the cedar forest, where you can enjoy the wildlife by seeing wild monkeys in the cedar trees. Then, we set off to Midelt, where we may see the hills dotted by the black tents and goat herds of nomadic Berbers who call this rugged region home.

After late lunch in Midelt, we continued for 4 hours of driving time on mountain roads overlooking the wide-flowing Oued Ziz. Passing Kasbahs and palm groves, we stop at Ziz Valley for a break and arrive in the late afternoon at the Merzouga desert. Then, we spend the night at the hotel, having breakfast and dinner.

Day 4Tour around Erg Chebbi by 4×4 – camel ride and night in desert camp

In the morning, after a delicious breakfast, we start our desert tour around the dunes of Erg Chebbi from the Hotel. Firstly, we will visit the Khamlia village and listen to their spirit African music, originally from Ghana and Sudan. We will see a deserted mine of Mascara, and later, we will be welcomed with a cup of tea and the smell of desert herbs by Berber nomad families on the Edge of the Merzouga desert.

After lunch, we will head back to Merzouga desert. After relaxing, we will go for the camel trek over the fantastic dunes. Therefore, we will spend the night in an equipped camp with drums music in the middle of the Sahara desert, which is an excellent opportunity to take lovely pictures of the sunset and sunrise. On our arrival at the camp, we climbed the high dunes to see the sunset and spent the night in a nomad tent or a luxury desert camp, breakfast and dinner included.

Day 5Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley/ Dades Gorges

In the early morning, you watch the spectacular sunrise near your luxury desert camp. After a lovely breakfast and a hot shower, you ride the camel back to the village or 4WD. Then, we start our private Morocco 8 Day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech to Dades Gorge.

We drive to Erfoud, a Fossil town. It’s up to you if you want to stop in one of the fossil factories. Besides, we continue our way to Dades Valley via Todra Gorges, with its mud villages next to the river. Explore the best highlight of the day by walking between this narrow passage with vertical cliffs 300 m high, a popular destination for mountain climbers.

After lunch in the town, we leave for Dades Valley, where we will stay overnight in a hotel and have breakfast and dinner. There, we will see the fascinating monkey toes.

Day 6Dades Gorges – City of Roses – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

Departing from Dades Valley in the morning for Marrakech today, our journey will take us to the main sites of the south. We will drive through the city of Roses and continue toward Marrakech through Ouarzazate, the cultural heritage Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and the high Atlas Mountains.

We stop in Ait Benhaddou Ksar for lunch and a walk of this world heritage site. This famous 11th-century kasbah was used as a backdrop for more than 20 films, including the famous Gladiator. After lunch, we will cross the mountain ranges to Marrakech through Tizi N’Tichka, which will take 3 hours of driving time. We will reach Marrakech in the evening.

Day 7Marrakech sightseeing tour

A full-day tour of Marrakech with a local guide, with whom you will be walking through the narrow alleys of the Medina. Visit the fascinating Bahia palace and the 12th century Koutoubia Mosque ‘and’ walk in the famous Jemaa El-Fna Square.

Optional time for lunch will be in the Medina, followed by a walk through the vibrant markets of Marrakech without forgetting the beautiful Majorelle Gardens.

You have a free afternoon on your own if you want to enjoy a sunset drink overlooking the exciting Jemaa El-Fna Square, wander the snake charmers and storytellers, have dinner, and spend the night at the hotel/riad.

Day 8Marrakech – Transfer to Casablanca airport

Today, after breakfast,  your 8 Day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech will ends as you will be transferred to Casablanca or Marrakech Airport.
