6 Day tour from Fes to Marrakech Itinerary

Day 1Fes - Ifrane - Azrou - Midelt - Merzouga Desert

On the first day of our six-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, we will pick you up from your hotel or the airport. We will then begin an inspiring journey to the Merzouga Sahara Desert, passing through many spectacular locations.

We’ll travel southeast from Fes. Drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Ifrane, known as the little Moroccan Switzerland because it resembles a Swiss ski resort. Ifrane is famous for its cold climate in winter, where skiers flock to practice their hobby.

We’ll visit Morocco‘s and North Africa’s largest cedar forest, which is also home to Barbary monkeys. We continue south, passing through traditional Berber villages and countryside. You will notice Nomadic shepherds with their flocks scattered across the region.

Along our journey, we’ll stop for lunch in Midelt and again in the lovely Ziz Valley to admire the oasis’s scenery. This Valley is Morocco’s second-longest river, and palm withes and mud villages line its linings.

After that, we’ll head to the Merzouga Desert. We will meet the camel guide in the Merzouga Desert and ride camels through the dunes. You’ll stop in the middle of the dunes to relish the sunset and take photos along the way. Following that, you’ll ride the camels to the camp.

When you get to the campsite, our team will greet you and lead you to your sleeping tent. You can also try various things like sandboarding and hiking the dunes. You will enjoy a Berber dinner. Listen to some local Berber songs and dance around the campfire. You can climb the dunes and stare up at a starry sky.

Day 2Desert Tour around Merzouga

Get up early to watch the sunrise, have breakfast in camp, and try sandboarding in the dunes near the campsite. You’ll return to Merzouga village on camels. The Erg Chebbi desert trip is the spotlight of the 6-day tour from Fes to Marrakech. Start a one-day journey in a comfy 4×4 to explore the fascinating spots of Merzouga.

First, we will begin our desert trip by visiting the Emirati-owned National Auto Museum. This location resembles a palace, and we will see a variety of old 4×4 vehicles. It is also well-known for its custom double Jeep car.

Then we’ll go to Khamlia Village, which is famous for its Gnawa music. The Gnawas utilize music to convey their rich culture and traditions. You will be willing to listen to their music and learn about their history.

We’ll learn about another lifestyle, that of Berber nomads. They still live in desert Berber tents. Merzouga’s nomads come from various tribes with distinct traditions. We’ll stay in their tents and learn about their way of living. Their source of income is goat and sheep herding, which they sell in nearby towns like Rissani and Erfoud. The main distinguishing feature of these people is their hospitality, generosity, and kindness.

After a quiet stay with nomads, we will exit for Galb El Nas, one of Merzouga’s best desert views. It refers to people’s hearts in English. We’ll also go to Mifiss to explore its kohl mines, once owned by the French administration. It used to generate a million kilograms of mine per year. We’ll make several scenic breaks to take in the various views of the Sahara Desert. Above all that, you will spend the night in the hotel.

Day 3Merzouga Desert - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley

On the third day of our 6 day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, we will travel from Merzouga to Boumalne Dades. You will get up early in the morning and hike the dunes to watch the sunrise. Following that, you’ll enjoy breakfast at the camp or the hotel.

After breakfast, we will drive through Rissani, which is known for having the biggest market in the area. People from Merzouga and neighboring villages go shopping and purchase necessities. We’ll take you to observe the various spices, teas, and herbs. From there, we’ll drive through Tinghir, which is famous for the Todra Valley and Morocco’s highest and narrowest canyons.

Our Fes to Marrakech 6-day tour will take us to the 400m-high Todga Canyons. Thousands of travelers visit those gorges to learn how underground water irrigates hundreds of agricultural lands. Furthermore, this place attracts climbers from all over the world who want to practice their love activities. Finally, we drive from Tinghir to Boumalne Dades, where we’ll spend the night.

Day 4Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou

When you wake up and eat breakfast, our driver will wait for you in the hotel. The fourth day of our 6 Day tour from Fes to Marrakech will begin by traveling to Ait Ben Haddou via Ouarzazate to explore the Atlas Studios.

Ouarzazate is the gate to the Sahara Desert and the beginning of the Thousand Kasbahs Road. Its name in Berber means “without noise.” The city is renowned for housing the world’s largest solar energy station.

Many movies and series, including Gladiator, The Mummy, Alexander, and Game of Thrones, were filmed in this beautiful city. We’ll go to Ait Ben Haddou’s Kasbah, a fortified village. We’ll pause here to take in the views of the village and valley from the top of a hill. You will also have the opportunity to take some stunning photographs. Beyond all of that, we will spend the night in the hotel.

Day 5Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas Mountains- Marrakech

On the fifth day of our 6-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, we will pick you up from your hotel in Ait Ben Haddou after breakfast. We will travel through the 2260-meter-high Tizi N’Tichka pass.

The Tizi N’Tichka pass provides breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys, mountains, and Berber villages. When we arrive in Marrakech, the driver will transport us to our hotel or riad, where we will spend the night.

Day 6Marrakech Guided Tour

Marrakech, Morocco’s city of light or the city that never sleeps, is one of the most popular, if not the most. This red city provides its travelers with beautiful sights that will impress them. We will devote an entire day to discovering the city’s major attractions because Marrakech is Morocco’s fourth-largest city. You will need a local guide to tour the city. We provide the best local guides in Marrakech to explore the city’s main attractions.

On the last day of our six-day tour from Fes to Marrakech, you will stroll around Marrakech with a tour guide. We usually begin by heading to the Majorelle Garden, one of Morocco’s best and most beautiful gardens. The origins of this location can be traced back to 1923 when a French orientalist artist arrived in Morocco and settled. As a result, this location has a distinctly French flavor.

Following that, we will visit Menara Garden, another beautiful garden in the city. This latter is situated west of Marrakech, close to the High Atlas Mountains. This place provides charming views for both tourists and city residents who frequent it.

Later, we will take you to the Bahia Palace, one of the pretty monuments displaying magnificent Moroccan architecture. We will then move to a variety of locations. Finally, you will visit Jamaa El Fna’s beautiful square. We will end the Desert tour from Fes to Marrakech.
